Itinerary Overview

Explore the cellars and vineyards of Chile and Argentina’s finest wineries and enjoy tastings of Carmeneres, Malbecs and other varietals. Meander through the Andean foothills and a variety of wine-growing valleys while indulging in the local flavors, aromas and cultures of these distinct countries.

DAY 1  Casablanca valley – coast

Visit the Catrala Winery, walking the grounds and surrounding native forests with the vineyard’s owner. Taste one of Chile’s top Chardonnays while overlooking the valley. Continue with a visit to the boutique Kingston Family Vineyard for amazing Pinot noirs and lunch at the contemporary Casas del Bosque Winery before ending the day at the coastal town of Algorrobo.

DAY 2 san antonio valley – valparaiso

Tour the Casa Marin Winery and walk the grounds with views of the Pacific. The coastal San Antonio Valley produces excellent white varietals and cool climate reds. Visit modern Vina Matetic and bike through the vineyards to century old Coralillo Winery for a tasting and lunch at their restaurant set amidst gardens and ponds. Continue to Valparaiso.

DAY 3 valparaiso

Discover the eclectic charm of Valparaiso. The first Chilean city founded by the Spanish, ‘Valpo’ was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ride the century old ascencores (hillside elevators), walk lyrical streets, and visit poet Pablo Neruda’s home.

DAY 4 aconcagua valley – andes crossing – mendoza, argentina

Take in views of the Southern Hemisphere’s highest peak while visiting the Aconcagua Valley, well known for its Cabernet and Syrah. Visit Errazuriz, one of Chile’s oldest and most beautiful vineyards, and lunch overlooking Inca Lake. Cross into Argentina, take a stroll through a national park and arrive to Mendoza.

DAY 5 uco valley

Visit high-altitude Valle de Uco, the new frontier of Argentinean winemaking. Snow-capped Andean peaks loom overhead as you visit Salentein Winery and the Kilka Art Gallery. Walk the orchards and vineyards of Atamisque Winery and relax in their traditional bodega.

DAY 6 lujan de cuyo valley – onward (buenos aires or return santiago)

Visit Domaine St. Diego to taste the country’s best Malbecs in the Lujan de Cuyo Valley. Continue on to Achayal Ferrer and Ruca Malen, where Chef Lucas will serve you a traditional Argentinean barbeque. End the day with special barrel tastings with pioneering winemaker Carmelo Patti. Depart from Mendoza.

Weather & When to Go to Central Chile

Central Chile has a Mediterranean climate similar to the middle parts of California, however the seasons are opposite those in North America and Europe. Expect daytime temps between 70-90 °F (21-32 °C) between November and March, and between 45-65 °F (7-18 °C) other times in the year factoring in coastal breezes if in Valparaiso, Vina del Mar or Cassablanca Valley. In other words Central Chile is comfortable year-round however if you’re not going for skiing it is cloudier and cooler between May and October.

Easter Island

A tropical paradise with history, culture and mystery at every beautiful turn, a visit to Easter Island – the world’s most isolated speck of land – will captivate any traveler. Meander through the picturesque countryside dotted with volcanoes, and learn about the mysterious Moai statues erected by the original Polynesian tribes who inhabited the island. Still today little is known about the statues or their creators. While circumnavigating the island on visits to the diverse Moai sites, you’ll have opportunities to relax on deserted, white-sand beaches, explore volcanic caves with petroglyphs and walk the rim of a seaside volcano.
